Now in its second year, this annual award celebrates the Consultant who best embodies our Mission to reduce harmful chemicals in everyday lives by educating and inspiring others.*

Norwex Foundation for a Brighter Future

The Norwex Foundation for a Brighter Future empowers Norwex Consultants and employees to make a positive impact right where they live. By coming together, we’re creating a brighter future for our communities, our environment and future generations through the efforts of the people and organizations we support.

The Norwex Foundation donated $5,000 to Friends of the Kaw, nominated by Consultant Jeanette Walther.

Friends of the Kaw (FOK) serves the Kansas River – known locally as the Kaw – the largest prairie-based river system in the world. Originating at the junction of the Smoky Hill and Republican Rivers, it runs 173 miles to meet the Missouri River at Kaw Point in Kansas City, Kansas.

A drinking water source for over 800,000 Kansans, the Kansas River is often referred to as a working river. Among its many uses: agricultural, irrigation, industrial water supply, municipal water supply, electricity generation, sand mining and many more, both public and private. FOK is dedicated to protecting the river from pollution sources including municipal and industrial wastewater discharges, new pollution sources and in river commercial sand and gravel mining.

For almost 30 years, this water-focused group has been the only grassroots conservation group dedicated to protecting the Kansas River. Members come from rural, urban and suburban areas and represent canoers, kayakers, fisherfolk, hunters, birdwatchers and locals.
