Expiring Shop Offers on Shared Carts
If you’ve ever wondered what happens to a Shop Offer after a Shared Cart link expires, here’s an important update.
Previously, when a customer opened your Shared Cart link, any offer attached to that cart stayed active – even if the link later expired. That meant customers who had already opened the cart could still complete their order and receive the discount.
Now we’ve made an improvement to ensure offers behave the way you’d expect:
🛒 Shared Cart links still work the same way.
When a customer clicks your link, it creates their own copy of the cart where they can add or remove items.
⏳ As long as the link is active, they can continue using it.
Customers can revisit the link and reorder as long as the Shared Cart link hasn’t expired.
🚫 When the Shared Cart link expires, any Shop Offer included in the cart now expires, too.
Even if the cart was previously opened, the Shop Offer will no longer apply once the Shared Cart link is expired – but your customer can complete their purchase without the offer.
With this update, Shop Offers now align with the expiration of the Shared Cart link itself – helping ensure your promotions run exactly within the timeframe you intend.
This is a meaningful improvement designed to give you more control and clarity when sharing offers with your customers. But remember: you must be an Office Suite subscriber to participate in Shop Offers and Shared Carts. Subscribe today and get access to the tools that drive your business forward.
